Packaging And Closer Look
The Samsung SSD 980 box is sure to look familiar. Samsung has kept with the same style of packaging for some time now when it comes to their line of SSDs. On the front, we can see an image of the drive with the controller on show. We can also see the drive type (SSD 980 NVMe M.2) and the fact that it boasts read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s.
There isn’t a whole lot going on around the back of the box. We can see the link to find out more info on the warranty and product. We can also see the fact that the SSD 980 is backed by a 5-Year Limited Warranty and that is about it.
The SSD 980 doesn’t have a lot going on for it as far as aesthetics are concerned. The front of the drive has a sticker across most of it that gives us the model, part number and serial number. For the most part, this stuff won’t be needed unless for some reason you need to raise an RMA. The SSD980 is 2280 in size, which means it is 22mm wide and 80mm long so you will need to make sure your motherboard will support this.
Over onto the back of the SSD 980 and we have some branding on the PCB itself and another sticker. This sticker is the one that has all the legally required logos companies are still forced to put on their components. While this won’t be seen once the drive is installed, not many people actually even pay attention to this.
