Samsung has launched its latest SSD, the 990 EVO Plus, with impressive storage options reaching up to 4 TB. This new SSD is designed for those who need faster data processing and expanded storage for their PCs. Supporting PCIe 4.0 and utilizing the latest NAND technology, it’s optimized for gaming, business, and creative users.
The 990 EVO Plus offers sequential read speeds of up to 7250 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6300 MB/s, marking a significant improvement over its predecessor, the 990 EVO. Hangu Sohn, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, commented, “Our daily lives are increasingly demanding more data with the images we share on social media and high-quality video streaming.” He added that this SSD is perfect for those needing faster processing speeds and higher storage capacity.
The SSD is built using Samsung’s 8th generation V-NAND technology and a 5-nanometer controller, which provides a 73% boost in power efficiency over the previous model. Its nickel-coated heat shield ensures it runs cooler, making it ideal for intensive tasks like gaming and AI operations.
The need for large-capacity storage has never been greater, driven by demands for managing large files, high-quality video editing, and next-generation gaming. Samsung’s 990 EVO Plus meets these needs with a 4 TB model, surpassing the storage capabilities of its predecessor. The intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 technology provides rapid file transfers and minimizes lag.
The 990 EVO Plus is now available worldwide, starting at $109.99 for the 1 TB model, $184.99 for the 2 TB, and $344.99 for the 4 TB version.
