Samsung’s Smart TV T&Cs Look Like They’re Straight Out of ‘1984’

The terms and conditions of Samsung’s Smart TV’s voice control capabilities have caused a bit of an uproar on the web. An image comparing one section of those terms to a piece from George Orwell’s ‘1984’ has since received over 12,000 retweets on Twitter thanks to its chilling message to those who plan to talk in front of their television.
“Samsung may collect and your device may capture voice commands and associated texts so that we can provide you with Voice Recognition features and evaluate and improve the features. Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition.”
This is the tweet itself along with Orwell’s text.
