When I go to the cinema, I like to think I’m pretty considerate. I turn my phone off completely, or at least put the brightness right down and leave it on silent should I need to respond to a message from a babysitter or something. I sure as heck don’t sit there on Facebook throughout the movie, or take a call, as so many people seem to do these days. In fact, one of the few times I’ll be annoying in a movie is telling people who are on their phone to… well, you can likely guess.
Of course, I’m not the only one who hates a movie being ruined by phone users, and Samuel L. Jackson has been enrolled by Alamo Drafthouse to convey their long-standing zero-tolerance policy on using phones during the movie.
I applaud this message from both Samuel and Draft house. Now, if only we can get one to throw people out of gigs for filming on an iPad from the front rows, that would be pretty sweet too.
