A Closer Look
The Sapphire R9 285 graphics card has a pair of 80mm fans which are what gives it the “Dual-X” name.
Underneath those downward-blowing fans we find four copper heat pipes of which two are 8mm and two are 6mm.
The whole design is open for exhaust of hot air back inside your chassis. At the end we also find the fan cables which are easily accessible.
The card conforms to a standard dual slot design and measures in at 26.5cm long.
Power is delivered through dual 6 pins, the TDP of this card is 190W.
The Sapphire R9 285 Dual-X includes a BIOS button for switching between legacy and UEFI BIOS modes.
Around the back we find dual DVI, HDMI and Display Port.
The PCB used is matte black and the heatsink is easily removable for maintenance with four Phillips head screws.
