Sapphire Unveil its GearBox 500 Thunderbolt GPU Enclosure with 6600 XT

SAPPHIRE has announced the launch of its new GearBox 500 Thunderbolt 3 eGFX Enclosure which is now available as a complete solution with the PULSE AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB graphics card. The Gearbox 500 eGFX Enclosure features an updated chassis design with improved airflow that when connected to the latest graphics cards drastically improves the performance of Thunderbolt 3 / 4 Mac or Windows 10 enabled devices.

Designed for users that need the performance boost to run bandwidth-intensive applications such as professional software and the latest 1080P games, the GearBox 500 eGFX Enclosure’s lightweight and slim small form factor design is highly portable and as well as the PULSE RX 6600 XT, can host up to a 350W PCI-Express x16 Graphics Cards from both AMD and Nvidia’s consumer and professional GPU families.

Where Can I Learn More?

At the time of writing, Sapphire has not confirmed any specific regional release dates for its GearBox 500 graphics card enclosure, nor how much we can expect it to cost. Given that they are offering it supplied with an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, however, I think it would be fair to say that this probably isn’t going to be cheap. For users looking for a graphics card solution on the go, however, this could well prove to be a very savvy purchase.
