Sapphire RX 7800 XT Nitro+ 16GB
The next step isn’t too big, as moving up to the Sapphire RX 7800 XT Nitro+ 16GB is only around £100 more than the RX 7700 XT. However, your extra investment will see you go from 12GB to 16GB of VRAM, which should be more than enough for maxing out the texture quality slider in virtually any game. It only has around 400 more Stream Processors than the last card, but combined with the extra VRAM and a bigger triple-slot cooler, it’s often about 20-30 faster in the most demanding titles. However, at this point, you’ll want a 700W or above PSU, likely more than that depending on how potent your CPU is too, and it’s a triple slot design, so may be incompatible with many micro-ATX cases.

It’s a relentlessly capable card for 1440p gaming, and if you play the latest graphically intensive single-player games, you’ll have no issues. It’s also well suited to very high refresh rate monitors for competitive online games such as Fortnite, CS:GO, Valorent, Sea of Thieves and many others, where 144hz-175Hz refresh rate displays will be able to take full advantage of what it has to offer.
