Sapphire has recently announced the Sapphire HD 6950 TOXIC Edition, which will be the fastest production card in its class.
The Sapphire HD 6950 Toxic will ship with a core clock speed of 880MHz and 1300Mhz for the memory (5.2 Gb/sec) which makes it easily the fastest HD 6950 on the market.
To achieve this, Sapphire have built the card on a high specification PCB with digital VRMs for excellent power regulation as we as fitting 8 + 6 pin power connectors. It now has a high performance cooler with the more standard Vapor Chamber, blower fan and a new perforated backplate (it has bigger gaps!) to increase airflow out of the system case.
While of course it is still the same as the standard HD 6950, it is worth mentioning some of the more important features, like true DX 11 capability as well as powerful configuration of 1408 stream processors and 88 texture processing units. The HD 6950 also has a Dual BIOS feature allowing enthusiasts to adjust and experiment with alternative BIOS settings without doing too much damage. While the card effectively comes pre-overclocked, there is still more to gain from this card (the standard HD 6950 can be overclocked more than this), so they have also included the Sapphire TriXX, which is the company’s dedicated overclocking tool allowing you to adjust everything you need.
