Sapphire Technology introduce their newest non-reference graphics card in the form of the Radeon HD6850 Toxic Edition.
Based on 40nm technology, the new 6850 is factory overclocked using a 820MHz GPU core, integrates 960 Stream Processors, and a 256-bit memory interface with 1GB of GDDR5 at 4400MHz.
The card has a dual-slot design, a three-heatpipe cooling system, blue pcb and draws power from 2 x 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors.
The card also features dual DVI, HDMI 1.4 and dual mini DisplayPort 1.2. It also supports both DirectX 11 and CrossFireX. The Radeon HD 6850 Toxic Edition should become available soon, yet we don’t know its price, but should be roughly a bit more than the reference design.
As with the previous 5850 toxic edition the new HD6850 toxic edition, even factory overclocked, should run much cooler and have a greater overclocking headroom for additional extreme overclocking when compared to the reference designs, but note that the card once overclocked will draw significantly more wattage.
