Who is She? Sapphire Initiates Countdown with Sexy New Teaser for NITRO+ (UPDATED)

Sapphire Technology, AMD Radeon’s leading video card manufacturing partner has initiated a countdown on their SapphireNation website, counting down the launch of the upcoming NITRO+ 500 series graphics cards. The countdown ends on April 18 which will officially launch the entire Radeon RX 500 series line, not just the Sapphire NITRO+ series. Also, Sapphire will be adding a new model called PULSE, the photos of which have been leaked earlier, suggesting it will be below the NITRO+ line in the product stack.

The teaser uses a silhouette is of a mysterious, fit woman wearing nothing but body paint and what appears to be a ridiculous looking headgear in the shadows. The “V” shape of the headgear seems to correspond with the NITRO logo rather than the upcoming Radeon Vega graphics cards, but it is a weird teaser nonetheless. Especially since the graphics on the box art show a different character altogether which is that of a robot designed by South African artist Furio Tedeschi which Sapphire has been using for a while now. Although Sapphire is celebrating the new NITRO+ series launch, the mysterious sexy new character being introduced could be Sapphire’s new mascot similar to Radeon’s “Ruby” character.  When asked on Facebook who the woman is, Sapphire Technology replied: You will know who that is very soon!

UPDATE:

After several minutes of intense Googling, I think I have an idea of who this person is. It is most likely YouTuber Kay Pike who has become popular with her self-body painting videos of usually geek and pop-culture related characters. The body type matches closely as well as the fact that the body painting looks like it was self-applied. Plus, she has body-painted cosplay as Dragon Ball Character Frieza before which has similar rounded ears like the character above. Although whatever the name of the new Sapphire mascot is, it is not known yet. We would have to wait until the countdown finishes.

For now, check out some of Kay Pike’s body painting videos below:
