Special Edition Nitro+ RX 590
The photos of the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 590 surfaced last week. Now it is finally official and users can get it in stores. Sapphire calls this Nitro+ video card “Special Edition” and it comes with a 1560MHz GPU boost clock. This is a slight overclock from the reference 1545MHz, which in turn is much higher than the 1340MHz of the reference RX 580.
Aside from the factory overclock, the Nitro+ Radeon RX 590 sports a cool blue shroud with the Sapphire Dual-X cooler design. It looks very much identical to the Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 Special Edition, using dual-ball bearing 95mm fans. These supposedly have an 85% longer lifespan than sleeve bearing.
Meanwhile, the heatsink underneath has large 8mm thick nickel plated heatpipes for more efficient heat dissipation. The rear also has a matching backplate which help with the PCB rigidity and provides additional structural support.
How Much is the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 590 Special Edition?
The good news is that this Special Edition RX 590 costs exactly the same as the reference RX 590. Users can get it from stores for $279 and it is also qualifies buyers to receive three games from the new ‘Raise the Game Bundle’. This consists of Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
