The Nitro+ is a gorgeous looking card, with a dark grey finish that has a matte finish, with an almost brushed metal look to it, despite being made from plastic. It feels robust, with chunky materials used everywhere, and that dotted design on the shroud looks great too.
There are two 92mm fans fitted in the top, which should be able to shift quite a lot of airflow with relative ease. Of course, this is good news, as behind them, you’ll find a pretty significantly sized heat sink. It features four large heat pipes feeding heat from a large contact plate, which covers all the key hardware components, forming a complete cooling solution for the GPU, memory and VRM.
There’s a nice amount of ventilation around the back, as well as five video outputs; 2 x DP, 2 x HDMI, and 1 x DVI.
A thick metal backplate on the back of the card certainly adds some style, but it also gives the card a lot of added strength, as well as some passive cooling improvements for the back of the PCB.
Around both sides of the card, you can see exposed heat pipes. That includes the larger 8mm ones, which are so big, that they need a cutaway in the side of the shroud.
Towards the rear of the card, there is a bios switch, which is certainly handy if you’re tinkering with more advanced settings.
The card is quite power hungry too, and it’ll require 1 x 8 and 1 x 6 pin PCI connectors.
