Acoustic, Thermal and Power Testing
Acoustic Performance
With a zero RPM fan mode, the card is completely silent in most scenarios. However, even when you’ve got the fans kicking in, the card is still very quiet, measuring just 42dBa.
Thermal Performance
The huge cooler design is doing a decent job, keeping the card from passing 70c. You could comfortably increase the RPM of the fan for better cooling performance though, as it’s pretty quiet with the stock settings.
Power Usage
Using an older chipset with a significant overclock is hurting the efficiency of the new AMD cards. It uses almost the same power at the GTX 1080 G1 Gaming! Of course, we won’t see improvements in the efficiency of AMD cards until we get a new chipset such as Vega.
