Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 Ultimate 1GB Graphics Card

Whenever we get a card like this, we are always excited to see what it’s capable of, and not in terms of performance, as the card comes supplied with reference clocks, but instead, we aim to focus more on the cooling side of things.
With that in mind, we still managed to see some great performance results when we compare this card to the HIS and AMD equivalents, which both include reference speeds also. Though stock speeds were used, this card still managed to push ahead in almost every test, which is a remarkable feat for Sapphire and shows that maybe the GPU has that little faster performance when loading textures and dealing with Tesellation.
In terms of the design, you’ll immediately assume that the large cooler will make the card very heavy, and from a first glance you would rightly believe so, but the card remains extremely lightweight due to the materials used on the cooler and heatsink design. The overall styling is very pleasing and still reminds us very much of a Transformer-like character from the all so famous movie and cartoon franchises.
The main focus for this card is power and temperatures, and it clearly shines in both areas with low power usage and some respectable results when looking at temperatures, especially for a completely passive card. In terms of noise, this is something that you won’t have to worry about as this card is 100% silent and will be perfect in a HTPC for someone wanting to game from time to time. It’s able to deal with HD content making it a perfect match if the card is within your budget.
For normal desktop users wanting to grab a slice of the latest AMD technology, you’ll find this will handle the most extreme games around, with good quality settings, but if framerates are what you crave, then you’ll always have the ability to drop the resolution or quality settings to more than make up for it.
Now taking a look at the price, we find a very attractive £96.92 showing that this card really does aim to compete with similar products from other manufacturers, by undercutting them by anywhere up to £30 or so which is a great selling point for Sapphire and even better news for the consumer. Sure you could spend a bit more and go for a pre-overclocked card, but this managed to almost keep up with a 7770 and from stock performance. You will also have to keep in mind that this is a passive solution and can’t be compared to something that has an active cooling system that can lead to a noisy operation.
We’ve always made it clear that we love Sapphire, and this card explains exactly why, as they have managed to create a product that is simple, effective, easy on the bank balance and performs amazingly and is most importantly; unique. Nothing else on the market offers a passive solution like this that is able to give great results with none of the drawbacks. We have to congratulate Sapphire on their Ultimate edition range and we’re glad to see that the Radeon HD 7750 has adopted this technology, and we can honestly see this card flying off the shelves as it simply ticks all of the right boxes.
