Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 OC Dual-X fleX 3GB Graphics Card Review
To test power consumption, we monitor the overall power of the system through a plug-in electricity usage monitor at an idle and load state. This allows us to show the fluctuation between how much power draw the graphics card takes at idle and at load. By monitoring the overall usage of the whole system, it gives an easy comparison if you wish to do the same yourself as opposed to buying very expensive individual testing equipment.
The power output overall was slightly higher with this card at both idle and load, but looking at things from face value, the card has the fleX aspect built into the card, as well as having a dual-fan cooler, and a pre-factory overclock, which more than makes up for it.
i know this is an overclocked card ,is there any point in upgrading from a ref 6950 1gb to the 7950? or should I move on to the 7970? The price factor is a concern too,I really begrudge paying £300 ish for a graphics card
It’s a nice jump Rob and will allow you to take advantage of some newer technologies. Check out a couple of our other reviews which shows the difference between the 7950 and 7970 cards.
yep im tempted this is my 6950 ref card gpu rating compared to yours
