A Closer Look

The front of the card shows that we have 2 fairly large fans on this card. As it is a lower powered card it simply doesn’t require as much cooling as the bigger offerings.

The aluminium backplate is printed with an industrial design and has a cut-out for air flow through the fins.

Also on the back of the card is an ARGB header that can be used to sync up the RGB of other devices to the GPU, in the way of a pass-through.

The cooler of the card is split into two heat sinks that are connected via four heat pipes into the plate that makes direct contact with the GPU.

On the end of the card, you can see where the four individual heatpipes terminate.

The fans feature a nine-blade design that is held within a ring that makes the fans more of a complete unit and should hopefully help direct airflow.

A big feature of the fans is the detachable nature of them. By undoing a single screw you’re able to quickly detach the fans for repairs, replacement or even just cleaning. I’ll be honest, I really like this, as it makes the product more sustainable and easier to maintain and I’d honestly like to see more companies making moves like this. It’s good for the environment and the consumer, so good job Sapphire, I’m genuinely impressed by this.

The rear I/O features a single HDMI amongst a trio of Display port connectors, all below a very large air vent for hot air to be expelled out of the rear of your case.

The side of the card is mostly open to allow air to reach the heatsink, but there is parts of the plastic shroud going around the side, that also features a Sapphire logo that lights up in RGB. From here we can also see the power connector for this card, which is a single 8-pin PCIe power connector that is recessed into the backplate.

For RGB, yes we do get it, but it’s not overly impressive. There is very little of it, but that’s not the end of the world. It’s still a luxury and should still be appreciated just for being here at all. That being said, even though it’s not particularly impressive, it still looks nice, but I am admittedly a bit of a sucker for pretty colourful lights, and it’s all subjective anyway.
