Sapphire Unveil Their NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 Graphics Cards
SAPPHIRE Technology has just revealed almost everything about their upcoming SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards. While we already know these new cards are built around the latest RDNA 4 architecture from AMD, we’ve yet to see just how well this will all perform in the real world. Rest assured, we’re less than a week away from the NDA, so it won’t be long before we can get some reviews out and see what’s what. Furthermore, AMD revealed some pricing information today in China, and MicroCenter let the cat out of the bag in the US too.
However, we’re here to talk about Sapphire and in their own words they have “a plethora of new exciting features alongside the iconic powerful cooling engineering from the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ lineup” and as a bit of a Sapphire fanboy when it comes to AMD GPUs, I’m excited to see these cards in action.
The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series Graphics Cards will be available in these enthusiast models, the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU with 16GB memory and the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPU with 16GB memory, both featuring the AMD RDNA 4 architecture and DisplayPort 2.1a.
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
This more premium and high-end model is the fastest of the two, featuring a GPU with 64 Compute Units and 4096 stream processors, a Boost Clock of up to 3060 MHz and a Game Clock of up to 2520 MHz. There’s 16GB of GDDR6 high-speed memory at up to 20 Gbps with 64MB of AMD Infinity Cache, as well as 2 x HDMI 2.1 and 2x DisplayPort 2.1a ports. The top version features their flagship Tri-X Cooling Technology too, and Sapphrie has a strong history of amazing GPU coolers.
SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 9070
Next up, we have the SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 9070 which sits below the XT in the stack. This features 56 Compute units and 3584 stream processors running with a Boost Clock of up to 2520 MHz and a Game Clock of up to 2070 MHz. It too features the same 16GB of GDDR6 high-speed memory clocked at 20 Gbps Effective with 64MB of AMD Infinity Cache technology. It also features the same 2 x HDMI 2.1 and 2 x DisplayPort 2.1 ports.
STEALTH Hidden Power Cable
An important aspect of these new GPUs is the implementation of the latest PCIe 12V-2×6 External Power Connector. While this reduces cable clutter, its problems are well documented via Nvidia cards, and while rare, they’re something to keep in mind and I’m eager to see how they hold up for AMD users.
PURE Returns
SAPPHIRE is also launching the SAPPHIRE PURE AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series Graphics Cards, which features white components for an ultra-clean aesthetic, but the underlying GPU technology is still the same as the others, but the cooler design and backplate are unique. The integrated ARGB LED SAPPHIRE Logo will also offer some added customisation as will a built-in External ARGB Control Sync 3-pin header.
SAPPHIRE TriXX Software
To celebrate the new cards, a new version of the SAPPHIRE TriXX Software will also be made available soon, with a new UI, and more features for customisation; this should be usable by all Sapphire AMD users, not just those buying the new cards.
Availability
The SAPPHIRE NITRO+, SAPPHIRE PURE and SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 series graphics cards will be available from selected SAPPHIRE e-tailers and retailers worldwide. We’ll have reviews, prices and retail links for you next week!
