Testing SetupTesting an item like this is all about the speed and overall performance, especially in comparison to its slower USB 2.0 speeds.
We used the following systemsetup for our tests:
Test System:
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 GHz
- Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Forumla
- RAM: 4GB (2x 2GB) Kingston HyperX Genesis 1600 MHz
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 6950
- System Drive: OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240 GB
- Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
- Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D
Software used:
- CrystalDiskMark
- AS SSD
The USB3.0 external drive we used to test the expansion card consisted of a Sharkoon QuickPort USB3.0 docking station and a Kingston SSDNow V100 128 GB SSD.
