SCS Reveals Greece Map Expansion For Euro Truck Simulator

In a slew of new announcements, SCS Software has revealed the next map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator just two weeks after the launch of the previous West Balkans expansion. This new expansion completes the Balkan peninsula with the addition of Greece.
ETS 2 Greece
Greece is a beautiful country on the end of the Balkan Peninsula taking us even closer to the Mediterranean. This DLC will cover around 14 cities and some of the many islands in the Aegean Sea with picturesque landscapes and iconic landmarks full of Greek culture. What separates this DLC from the others is its development time. Previous DLCs have required almost a year of pre-production however with the smaller scale, this DLC will arrive much quicker and possibly alongside the 1.49 update which is predicted for an early 2024 release. The smaller size also matches with the smaller and more frequent ATS DLC releases.
Now whilst I haven’t yet tried the West Balkans DLC (waiting on a Promods Update) I’ve heard great things and the Greece expansion once again looks to showcase more of the detail and effort that SCS puts into their maps from over 10 years of expanding ETS 2.
One thing I do want over anything else, is the UK rework. The UK map is very old and doesn’t feel like home. Fortunately, Promods makes it feel a lot more like home with a lot of improvements. When this rework will come is anyone’s guess, but fans are currently predicting that following the release of Greece, we will see an expansion to Northern Scandinavia and then following that we’ll see an Ireland expansion which will likely come alongside a UK rework. The current rework timeline has Switzerland jotted down for the 1.49 update and then possibly the Benelux regions, the UK and finally the Going East DLC regions. Beyond that I’m not entirely sure what else. In terms of actual DLC, it is hard to predict as Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are unfortunately off the table, but Iceland is a possible candidate as well as Turkey.
The DLC is available to wishlist on Steam now.
