Scythe Ashura CPU Cooler Review

From the top we can see the Scythe Ashura uses a matte black plate held in by four silver pins. It features the Scythe logo in the centre.

The Scythe Ashura is not a rectangle either, it features various notches and channels for improved airflow.

The fins are pretty dense and are both non-linear in terms of their horizontal and vertical arrangement.

As you can see the whole unit is quite big but it certainly isn’t going to obstruct anything with its size.

The base plate is made out of a solid stainless steel and has a groove for the pressure mounting bar.

The base is a beautifully finished nickel plated copper with six 6mm heat pipes.

Here is a closer look at the grooved design on the CPU cooler. It really is pretty impressive and I am very interested to see how much difference it makes.

Two of the heat pipes go to the outer heatsink while the other four cluster around the centre. The CPU contact plate is off-set away from the centre to allow for better RAM compatibility.

The provided fan is a 140mm Glide Stream PWM fan.

The cable is sleeved only partially which does let down the aesthetics a bit but its nothing unforgiveable.

The fan looks quite slim but actually uses a standard 25mm width.
