At stock we can see some very competent performance from the Big Shuriken 2. In fact it performs nearly as good as the SilverStone NT06 which measures in at a much taller height of 82mm. Overall the performance is excellent considering the height.
Acoustic performance didn’t suffer at all and the Big Shuriken 2 was whisper quiet.
Ramping up the overclocks and we see its performance fall back a little bit but it still did immensely good and beat a lot of coolers that were much taller such as the Shadow Rock TopFlow. At maximum fan speed it managed to shave off a lot more heat and push very close to some other high performance coolers.
Again the noise penalty was minimal and even at maximum fan speed it was still a tolerable level.
For comparison I knocked up a graph showing you the heights of the various low profile CPU coolers we compared this against. As you can see it was the second smallest heatsink yet performed second best. The Scythe Big Shuriken 2 really did perform exceptionally well for its height.
