In terms of installation, we must admit that the manual you are provided with isn’t too fantastic as most of the written annotations to the diagrams really lean towards the Asian market. While there is English language, it can sometimes be brief and a little nondescript. Fortunately, the diagrams within are excellent and tell you everything you could need to know.
Thanks to a really straight forward design, mounting the Scythe Big Shuriken 3 is really straight forward. You may, however, be wondering if it gets tricky to install the cooler itself. You may recall we noted that it had a pre-installed fan. Well, the good news is, it’s really straight forward!
There are two small recesses within the fan design that allow you to attach this to the mounting bracket without having to remove the fan. This is a really smart choice and makes the installation (as a whole) amazingly easy.
From out of the box and onto our system, this cooler took us around 5 minutes to install. For air coolers, that’s a remarkably short amount of time and it’s really nice to see that Scythe hasn’t bothered with a complex mounting system. Something that many manufacturers do when, quite frankly, other brands have consistently proven that complicated does not always equal better.
This cooler would be ideal for people either new or experienced in their installation and it gets a huge thumbs up from us!
