Scythe have launched the successor to the Big Shuriken CPU cooler with a few improvements with the release of the Big Shuriken 2, the number of copper heat-pipes has been increased from 4 to five, the new version also has an improved design to the heatsink which was previously solid has been replaced with two upper layers of aluminium fins, the mounting mechanism has been changed to the F.M.S.B. 4 (Flip Mount Super Back-Plate 4) using screws and a backplate, the socket list includes the Intel socket LGA1155, LGA1156, T / LGA775 and LGA1366 as well as AMD socket AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.
The new edition also comes with a Slip Stream Slim 120 PWM axial-fan with a thickness of only 12 mm making the total height of the unit 58mm, the included fan runs at between 500 and 2.000 rpm producing 12,13 to 45,47 CFM with a noise level of 9.32 – 33.67 dBA, the over-all dimensions are 125 x 135 x 58 mm at a weight of 410 g.
