Scythe Introduces Kotetsu Mark II CPU Air Cooler

Japanese cooling manufacturer Scythe is introducing the second revision of their Kotetsu CPU cooler. The Kotetsu series targets a balance of performance and price, and the Mark II improves performance further. The design itself is also new, showing an improvement in terms of component clearance and aesthetic. Unlike the original, the new Kotetsu Mark II is offset instead of at the center. This allows for greater compatibility with RAM and PCIe devices. The copper heatpipes are also have full nickel plating now. This results in a uniform and better looking heatsink, that is resistant to oxidation over time.

The Mark II also makes use of the latest Scythe Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan. This fan makes use of Scythe’s self-contained liquid Sealed Precision FDB bearing boasting a lifespan of 120.000 hours. The use of this bearing also results in quieter and smoother operation with a range of 300 to 1200 RPM. At this range, it provides 28.2 to 86.93 m³/h of airflow to keep the heatsink cool.

The compatibility list covers more than just the major sockets, including Intel® Sockets LGA775, LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366, LGA2011(V3) and LGA2066 as well as AMD® Sockets AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1, FM2(+) and AM4. The package contains all the required clips for mounting the Kotetsu Mark II, one fan clip set, user-manual as well as a package of thermal grease.

Pricing Information and Availability

The Scythe Kotetsu Mark II with the Model-No. SCKTT-2000 is available now with an MSRP of €29.50 (VAT excl).
