Scythe Introduces ‘Sengoku Bune’ CPU Cooler

Japanese cooling manufacturer Scythe is announcing a new CPU heatsink called the ‘Sengoku Bune’. The name comes from Japanese ships which Total War: Shogun 2 players will be familiar with. The shape of the aluminium fins resembles the design of these ships, hence the name. The heatsink also brings some familiar Scythe features while bringing a new design to their lineup.

Scythe Sengoku Bune Features

The Sengoku Bune measures 130(W)×156(H)×75(D)mm tall and uses a U-shape tower heatsink design. Six 6mm copper heatpipes take heat from the core and it has nickel plating. The heatpipes are arranged so that the radiator is offset. This provides clearance for components such as RAM and video cards. Even with the fan installed, it should not interfere with the component installation.

Users can expect Intel LGA2066 support and AMD AM4 support out of the box. It also supports previous standards Including LGA115x and AMD AM3+/FM2. It comes with a single 120mm PWM fan operating at 400 ~ 1500 RPM ± 10%. This fan moves silently through this range however, producing only 12.0 ~ 27.85dBA. Meanwhile, it produces 37.2 ~ 68.42CFM airflow. It only weighs 500 grams so its actually quite compact, but it is nonetheless a powerful option with its heatpipe count.
