Scythe is expanding its portfolio further by launching two brand new lines of power supply. Initially to be launched to Japan, these power supplies feature either 80 Plus Gold or Bronze. With the model name corresponding to the certificate awarded, i.e Solid Power Bronze will have a Bronze Certificate and the Solid Power Gold will have a Gold Certificate. The power supplies are coming in 550W or 650W models for the Bronze line and 500W ot 600W for the Gold line and will be targeting the entry level gaming segment of the market. The power supplies are expected to be very well priced and offer good price/performance ratios. Scythe will not actually be making the power supplies themselves, an OEM such as Sirtec, Enhance, or ATNG is likely to make them.
Both lines use identical-looking bodies, measuring W150 x D140 x H86 mm, with fixed cabling, and cooled by 120 mm silent fans. Apart from 24-pin ATX and 4+4-pin EPS, the Solid Power Bronze 550W includes two 6+2-pin PCIe, one FDD power, three Molex, and six SATA power; the 650W variant has six Molex connectors, and eight SATA power connectors, instead. The Solid Power Gold 500W and 600W, apart from 24-pin ATX and 4+4-pin EPS, offer two PCIe 6+2-pin, six Molex, and six SATA power connectors.
