Scythe Mugen 3 Rev.B CPU Cooler Review

The mounting kit for the Scythe Mugen 3 is relatively straight forward, but it does seem to require more than two hands at times. You install the backplate (top left) on both AMD or Intel systems, then use the provided long screws (top right) to hold the back plate in by putting those through the correct mounting holes and securing those in place with the rubber washers (top right, down 1).
It is then important you attach either your AMD or Intel brackets. In our case Intel brackets. For Intel systems you must attach the double side screws and circular nuts (bottom left next to the wrench) to the Intel brackets and then fasten the screws from below the motherboard tray into the double sided screws on the Intel brackets to secure the mount.
We appreciate words aren’t always easy to visualise so make sure you refer to the included instruction booklet. This video is also very useful:

Once you’ve seen the video you’ll notice that even though it is quite tricky to mount, you’ll only have to mount it once in most cases.
