Scythe Mugen 5 Black (SCMG-5100BK) RGB Edition – Review

Performance
At stock levels, the Scythe Mugen 5 provides some excellent temperature control and, even when overclocked, the numbers do not get overly excitable. That shouldn’t, however, take away attention from what is undoubtedly the most impressive figures. Namely, the acoustics.
While both in stock and overclocked levels, the Scythe Mugen 5 was amazingly quiet. Admittedly, based on the temperature results, I was moderately tempted to crank up the fan speed a little to see how far those temperatures could drop further, but that wouldn’t exactly make it a fair test, would it?
What I would be willing to say, however, is that if you’re already impressed with the temperature performance of the Mugen 5, then I believe that it could be improved upon much further with only the tiniest bit of compromise made to the noise levels!
