Scythe Mugen 5 Black (SCMG-5100BK) RGB Edition – Review

How Much Does it Cost?
While we couldn’t find an exact retail price at the time of the review, we’d expect the Scythe Mugen 5 SCMG-5100BK RGB Edition to cost something in the region of £50-£60.
A very decent price for an air cooler that performs as well as this one does in terms of both temperature control and noise output!
Overview
While this particular version lacks the twin fan design of the standard ‘Mugen 5’, it’s still a more than excellent cooler in its own right. Seemingly borrowing some features and adding others, this version is an excellent compromise for those who want more bells and whistles, but in a more compact style that would look good in any system build.
Should I Buy One?
The Scythe Mugen 5 (regardless of which version you can pick) has always proven to be an excellent option for those looking for high-end performance on a mid-range budget. No, it doesn’t perform as well as some of the biggest names, but then again as shown in our testing this is nearly as good as the majority of them and for practically half the money!
Scythe is, definitely, one of the biggest up and coming names in the air cooling market and, as such, you shouldn’t be surprised to see the Mugen 5 appearing in more and more system designs!
