Scythe are releasing PC amplifiers

From September the 2nd through to the 7th Scythe will be exhibiting their wares displaying their new range of PC amplifiers at the IFA trade show in Berlin Germany.

Their focus will be on the three new Class D digital amplifiers, one is a PCI slot based device with another to fit in 3.5 inch bay and the largest taking up two 5.25 inch drive bay.

The PCI Slot Amp (SDAS-1000) is built around the Power IC Texas Instruments TPA3123D2 which can be powered by either a PCI or PCI-Express slot and puts out 3.5 watts, switches on the PCB allow the device to be used as a sub woofer amp and in combination with supplied dial can cut out high frequencies and output only low bass frequencies.

The 3.5 inch bay amp the Bay Amp Pro mini 2000 (SDA35-2000) takes up what used to be the floppy bay, is also built around the Power IC Texas Instruments TPA3123D2 allowing a total output of 20 watts, with the ability to choose between RCA on the rear side of the amplifier or Line-in input on the front, whilst playing music from an external device there is the option to connect the device to the amps USB power port for charging.

The top of the line model is the Kama Bay AMP SDAR-3000 amplifier which is fitted in two of the chassis 5.25 drive bays, the guts of this amp is built around a Power IC TB2924AFG from Toshiba, this device can handle up to four input devices and has an output of 16 watts, this model also has the USB power charger port and comes bundled with an infra-red remote, Scythe has given it a retro look with customisable analogue dials.

As yet there are no pricing or release date details.
