Since this drive is based on, or more accurately IS, the Gaming fireCuda 2 TB in new clothes, it’s not surprising that the performance is practically identical to that drive. Obviously, there are some small discrepancies as there are always a few other factors in any benchmark run.
ATTO Disk Benchmark
It’s not a particularly fast drive, overall, but it’s within the expected range. It uses a slimmer 2.5″ mechanical hard drive system, which is pretty old technology. However, we know it’s reliable and affordable, so it’s perfect for a lot of external storage needs.
Anvil’s Storage Utilities
Large collections of smaller files or backups up larger files where the transfer time isn’t a pressing concern are best suited to this drive. For huge files and faster speeds, you’ll likely want one of their SSD based external drives. However, for the storage of documents, movies and music, these speeds should work just fine. If you need something faster, their Halo drive offers twice these speeds, but the trade-off, it’s twice as thick as the Beskar drive, so it’s up to you what suits you best.
