Seagate is one of the leading hard disk manufacturers and provides customers with a large number of storage options from low-cost mechanical drives to solid state drives. The company’s latest product is a hybrid SSHD which finely balances performance with a better price point than traditional SSDs. The FireCuda SSHD will be available via the 2.5-inch form factor and backed by a comprehensive 5-year warranty. The 2.5-inch form factor comes in 1TB and 2TB models, which should be ample for many people’s requirements. According to Seagate, the drives feature 8GB MLC flash storage and should be able to achieve transfer rates around 140MB/s. Not only that, the FireCuda drives are the lightest 2TB storage HDDs on the market today. Apparently, the 1TB model costs $70 while the 2TB hovers around the $100 mark.
