During the Gamescom event that’s currently taking place in Cologne, Germany, Seagate Technology announced the result of its recent collaboration with Microsoft – a new 2TB Game Drive designed specifically for Xbox consoles. The device will match the color schemes of Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles and will be based on a simple plug-and-play design that provides easy connectivity. The drive’s relatively generous storage capacity aims to ensure that users will no longer need to delete existing games in order to install new ones.
The product makes full use of USB 3.0 connectivity and boasts a black body complemented by a green top case decorated with the Seagate and Xbox logos. Regarding this new device, Microsoft’s business development manager for the partnership program, Matt Kesselring, stated the following:
“With all of the new and amazing titles expected for this holiday season and a ton more games coming in the future, Xbox gamers will need even more storage and portability.”
In turn, Seagate’s senior director of product marketing, Jeff Fochtman, also said a few words:
“This exciting new collaboration with Microsoft Xbox is an important milestone for Seagate that will help us to reach a new audience, which has an insatiable appetite for storage. There was a clearly defined need in this market for additional plug-and-play storage and Seagate is happy to be able to provide the solution.”
The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox will cost about $109.99, and it will become available for purchase at numerous electronic retailers across the world. Will you buy one?
