At the time of this review, the Seagate BarraCuda Pro 14TB is available to UK customers for £509.99. US customers can also get it, but at a higher price from other resellers – a fact that will change as soon as Seagate adds to their own stock again. At this time, the cheapest is $628.60.

Conclusion

I always enter a desktop HDD review with mixed feelings. Not because I expect something bad, but rather because I’m used to dealing with blazing fast NVMe drives and RAID setups daily. That said, the Seagate BarraCuda Pro 14TB doesn’t need to hide from anything. It is an incredible drive which offers both capacity and performance.

In our tests, we saw the BarraCuda Pro 14TB score the 3rd place in most charts. That’s impressive for a consumer drive, even if it is targeted at enthusiasts. It is also the fastest consumer HDD that I’ve tested to date. I’m thoroughly impressed!

Being a Pro drive, Seagate is backing the drive with great warranty and recovery services. A 5-year warranty is already a great feature, but the 2-year data recovery plan is even better. Hopefully, you’ll never need either of it, but it’s great to have if disaster strikes.

Whether you’ll use it as a steam library, media library, video and photo drive, or something else, the BarraCuda Pro 14TB will do a great job. It’s also well worth noting that it has an impressive 300TB/year workload rating and is certified for 24/7/365 usage.
