Seagate Desktop 3.5″ 4TB Solid State Hybrid Drive Review

ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Looking at the underlying performance we can see where the SSHD is starting to cache data as the benchmark is run. The small gain in performance on the read side brings the drive close to the top of the chart, whilst the write speeds are within our expected boundaries.

  1. Man that’s a lot of storage space. I’ll can’t even use 500 GB of my 1TB HDD and that includes all my games and music. Movies? I don’t watch ’em so I don’t collect ’em

  3. From the results I’d conclude that the SSD portion of the SSHD is not very useful. The performance boost (if any) is hardly noticeable, and Windows boot times remain poor.
The Western Digital Black² seems like a much better solution, providing real SSD performance.
