Seagate Display Mobile Drive Solutions at CES 2018

We stopped by Seagate at CES 2018 and took a look at what they have to offer. Among the drives on display are the Fast SSD with USB-C and the Joy Drive which combines a power bank and a portable storage drive.

Seagate Fast SSD

The Seagate Fast SSD is a small, portable, and fast storage drive for the person on the go. Fast SSD is lightweight, shock resistant, and can easily withstand the bumps and bruises of any commute. Capacity wise, you’ll get options of 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB which are compatible with Windows and MacOS right out of the box. It is pre-formatted as exFAT, but you can change that if you want to, of course.

It utilizes the latest USB-C standard for easy and hassle-free connections. Seagate includes a Type-C and a Type-A, so the drive stays compatible with older systems that are without USB-C ports. Performance wise, the drive is rated up to 540MB/s when reading and 520MB/s when writing.

Seagate Joy Drive

Seagate’s Joy Drive is also a portable drive, but it takes a different approach to the whole idea. It combines storage with a battery pack for the ultimate portable accessory.

The drive is designed for use with Android devices and OTG. With it, you can easily offload your video, photos, and more. All without the need for Wi-Fi.

Joy Drive offers up to 1000GB/1TB of data with built-in USB OTG. It’s easy to connect your Android device directly to Joy Drive with the integrated cable then use the mobile app to copy, view, and manage media. Forget streaming lag times and lack of WiFi. Wherever your mobile lifestyle takes you, Joy Drive for Android provides you extra media storage. You can download 4k video, view offloaded photos and videos, watch previously downloaded movies, and manage all of your media while on the go.
