Seagate FireCuda 540 2TB PCIe Gen5 x4 VNMe SSD Review

The Seagate FireCuda series has long been one of the absolute best for high-performance and reliable storage. They’ve always appealed to content creators and gamers who want the best speeds and features on the market, and now with the release of the new 540 Series, this PCIe Gen5 SSD promises to deliver speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s. While that’s not quite as fast as the flagship products on the market, it’s by no means slow, offering around 50% more speed than the Gen4 variant, and around 17x the speed of a traditional SATA SSD.

Seagate FireCude 540 2TB

What does interest me, however, is that it has a 2000 TB TBW, meaning it’s built for a long and hard life, and even Seagate say it is “perfect for powering through constant abuse. This SSD isn’t for the faint of heart.” It even comes backed up with three years of data recovery and a five-year limited warranty, giving you further peace of mind. It’s currently on Amazon for just £289.99 for the 2TB variant or if you’d prefer, you can purchase it from Scan here.
