Seagate Game Drive for PS4 4TB Portable HDD Review

Final Thoughts and Pricing

Pricing

At the time of this review, you can get this amazing game drive for just £99.99 or $99.99. If that isn’t a great price, I don’t know what is. It’s also the perfect Christmas present for your favourite console gamer. You can be sure they’ll love it! The MSRP is £124.99.

Final Thoughts

With a drive like Seagate’s Game Drive for PS4 with 4TB capacity, the times where you needed to delete games to make room for new are gone. There’s space for 100+ games on the drive, and you also have what you still got internally. For a person like me with fast internet, it’s a convenience factor. But those of you who live where internet connections are spotty at best will love not having to re-download games again.

Performance wise, the drive delivers standard 2.5-inch HDD numbers, around the 125-130MB/s marker. Right as expected. That’s the same as the internal drive in your PS4 delivers and as such, right on par.

The design of the drive is beautifully simple. The black and blue looks great on its own and also together with your PlayStation setup. It has a sturdy build-quality and should keep your games save. It is also quite functional as it works on the power provided through the USB cable despite the large size. There’s no need for an extra power supply for this drive and that increases the freedom and ease.

Pros

  • Large capacity
  • Bus-powered, no need for an external PSU
  • Plug and Play
  • Simple and guided setup on the PS4
  • Very affordable

Cons

  • None

“Seagate’s Game Drive for PS4 would be the perfect Christmas present for any console gamer. It adds up to 8 times the capacity of your internal drive. End the need to delete!”
