Seagate Game Drive PlayStation 5TB HDD Review

Seagate is one of the biggest tech brands in the world, famous for its enormous range of storage devices spanning decades. From internal HDDs to ultra-fast M.2 SSDs, they’ve got something for just about every storage need. However, today it’s all about console backups, and with their new PlayStation 5 compatible Game Drive available in 2TB or 5TB variants, it gives you a great way to backup those massive game files. If you’re on ultra-fast internet, these likely aren’t all that essential anymore, but for those with slow download speeds and data caps, or even those living a little more off the grid, being able to back up and restore those huge files can be a time saver.

Seagate Game Drive PlayStation 5TB

This officially licensed drive works with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but in all honesty, it’s “just” an external USB 3.2 Gen1 HDD, so you could plug it into your TV, laptop, PC, MAC, or just about anything else really and it would work just fine. The 2TB version is capable of holding around 30+ PS5 games or 50+ PS4 games, while the larger one we have today is the 5TB, and that will hold 60+ PS5 games or 100+ PS4 games. Some of the older gen titles will likely be playable from the drive, but keep in mind, that newer PS5 games need to be moved back to the faster internal storage to work correctly.
