Seagate God of War Ragnarök Limited Edition Game Drive Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Seagate God of War Ragnarök Limited Edition Game Drive is available now and while I struggled to see the stock at my preferred retailer here in the UK, there’s likely stock at a lot of smaller stores too, so have a quick search on Google here. However, it is available on Amazon US for just $169.99. You can find more information on the official product page here.

Overview

While the Seagate Game Drives aren’t going to set the world on fire with their extreme performance, they serve a very simple and practical need. Sure, portable storage isn’t the most exciting thing ever, but as I said before, we just need it from time to time. While there are plenty of Seagate external drivers that are just plain to look at, the Seagate Limited Edition Drives just add a little more colour to the market. They’ve done loads of these for Star Wars, Horizon, Marvel, and many others.

While the design isn’t going to be for everyone, I really like it. It’s easily one of their more toned-down designs compared to other Game Drives, but that actually makes it a little more versatile. I’m not going to look silly using this in the office, but it’s cool enough to be integrated into my gaming setup. Obviously, it’s going to appeal to God of War fans too, but just the general Norse mythology or the fact it has wolves on it may appeal to a few others beyond the gaming market too.

2TB is a good amount of space, and while you can not run PlayStation 5 games directly from it, you can back them up and restore them from it. However, previous-gen titles will work just fine, as this drive is effectively the same performance as what older consoles had built-in anyway. The read speeds may not be lightning fast, but if you have tragic internet speeds or data limits, backing up rather than endlessly redownloading may be your only option.

Should I Buy One?

The Seagate God of War Ragnarök Limited Edition Game Drive is gorgeous and delivers performance that’s right on the money. For PlayStation and God of War fans, it’s a great treat to yourself or as a stocking filler as we come up to Christmas.
