Seagate didn’t just bring fast or innovative portable drives with them to CES 2018, they also brought their large capacity drives. Naturally, the company brought along the Guardian series which we know very well by now. The series consists of IronWolf, Barracuda, and SkyHawk and we’ve reviewed a lot of them already. They are available with up to 12TB capacity now which is quite impressive. Especially as that goes for all three Guardian drives.
Seagate Game Drive Hub for Xbox
Large capacity drives aren’t just for the PC, NAS, and NVR units, they’re also for your gaming console. The internal 500GB or 1000GB drives can quickly be filled up. Games easily take 30 to 80GB each which makes the new Game Drive Hub awesome. This one is for Xbox One devices and has up to 8TB capacity. That is a whole lot of drive space for games.
We’ve seen the series before and it hasn’t changed in the optical department. What’s new is the 8TB capacity which is inside. And why change a great working concept?
The drive might take up an USB port on your console, but in return it has a built-in hub with two ports. Extend the range of your controllers when they are cabled by connecting them to the drive instead of the console. Or connect other devices, charge your mobile or controllers. There are a lot of options with USB.
The drive has a good ventilation system with air holes covering the full top of the drive.
