Seagate Ultra Touch 4TB USB-C External HDD Review

The drive performs right where I expected it to, and for those wanting to back up larger files for fast recall, this isn’t really the right device for you. It’s a bit old school, but old-school hardware allows you to get 4TB in your pocket without spending a small fortune.

Plus, the read and write speeds are pleasantly consistent and while they Type-C cable can support significantly higher speeds, it’s nice to see the more popular and newer cable format regardless, as Micro-USB is a bit old-hat these days.

So while loading games back and forth may take a while, it’s clear that huge amounts of small to medium files are going to do just fine here. Backing up photos, music, movies, ROMs, documents, and all that jazz are perfectly well-suited here.

Peter Donnell

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
