Things have been going green in my house, a bit of toast behind the cooker, the forgotten cup of coffee, and our take on global warming… OK maybe not the first two, but we have certainly been recycling more, and better than ever, we’re reusing and repurposing more things rather than just buying new, we’re gardening and growing vegetables, and so much more. It’s led me to take up woodworking and gardening quite extensively actually, all good stuff. However, I am still a desk-surfing web jockey, so how can I make my PC life a little greener too? The Seagate Ultra Touch HDD may not sound like much, but quite literally, every little helps.
“A new standard in Seagate portable storage has arrived. Striving towards sustainability, this drive contains at least 30% post-consumer recycled materials.” – Seagate
Available in 2TB, 4TB and 5TB variants, it’s quite literally a portable and external USB Type-C equipped HDD. But they’ve designed it to use 30% post-consumer recycled materials. That may not sound like much, but it really is. However, a 30% reduction in new plastic is freaking huge, and if we did similar with other products we’d be reducing millions of tonnes a year of plastic waste very quickly. Plus, even the packaging it comes in is 100% recyclable.
“Inspired by the natural world, these drives feature soft tones and a smooth design. Bring that feeling of nature to your workstation with two colour options — cloud white and pebble grey.” – Seagate
The drive even comes with a 6-month Mylio subscription, a free trial for Dropbox Backup Plan, and Seagate Secure encryption.
