Seagate is constantly adapting to the greater storage demands consumers have and working to produce higher capacities drives. Recently, the company unveiled the Backup Plus Portable 5TB drive. This is the largest capacity mobile drive available today and should be really handy for media professionals and other people who travel to different locations. This new storage solution is made possible thanks to Seagate’s new BarrCuda internal drive, featuring its breakthrough 2.5-inch 1TB platter.

This is a great addition to Seagate’s current product range and I can see the Backup Plus 5TB drive being quite popular. Apparently, the product will be available this month for $189.99 in black, silver and blue finishes. The different colours will make it easy to select something which matches your laptop’s style. Hopefully, we should have a review of this particular drive rather soon.
