Sean Murray Open to The Idea of Discussing No Man’s Sky on YouTube Gaming
No Man’s Sky will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most disappointing game launches of all time and could spark a new debate about the promises developers make pre-release. Since the game’s release, Hello Games’ managing director Sean Murray has been accused of lying and deliberately offering vague answers as a way of hiding the game’s lack of depth. Despite all the promises, No Man’s Sky is bland, devoid of content and has no multiplayer component. Rightfully, this entire saga has made consumers extremely angry as they feel misled. Also, just after the launch, Sean Murray offered to help improve the game and communicate on a regular basis. Sadly, this hasn’t come to fruition and the Hello Games’ official Twitter feed has been left vacant for the most part. I’ve spoken to some developers and they mentioned that Sean Murray has fractured the trust between indies and purchasers.
During the most recent LIVE with YouTube Gaming event, Geoff Keighley divulged some interesting information about Sean Murray and claimed that he’s open the the idea of discussing No Man’s Sky on YouTube Gaming. This is a surprising revelation and I don’t think Sean Murray is prepared for the kind of response he’s going to receive. Saying that, he needs to address people’s anger and provide an explanation of what happened during the development process.
Do you see Sean Murray as someone who deceived the gaming community?
There were features that didn’t get in. There always are. But the biggest gripe is about multiplayer, and *at best* people were only ever going to see each other in game; nobody ever promised full multiplayer, quite the opposite. But saying it was like Journey or Dark Souls 2 was deceptive and I believe he thought he would never be found out because it was such a small chance that players would ever find each other. But true multiplayer? Was never on the cards. And yeah it lacks depth, which can be fleshed out in DLC (but unlikely now due to the hateful mood). I have got more than my money’s worth out of the game though.
The word hate is for retards. We are angry at a dishonest puke. There is no “hate”. We have every god dammed right to be angry without it being falsly labeled as hateful by pro Sean Murray SJW kooks
Had you played Spore, you’d have known that NMS would be a lame copy, but far worse. ;o I laughed at my friend who kept being angry at me for telling her not to buy that crap… guess who got a refund.
He lied. He needs to lie again and add a DLC with more features to this deceptive game. He has the power to fix it since he already received more than what the game is worth.
Too late. Got my refund. Also I was playing on the side waiting for updates but I just uninstalled it today. Nms is dead to me
He’s probably afraid for his life. People keep hating on him. They were probably forced to release the game because they had people who gave them a deadline. They shoulda crowd sourced. I don’t mind a delay. I’d say a DLC could fix it, but now that I’ve played the game, fixing stuff I’ve been through already would be weird.
There’s nothing to say. You lied, and you paid for it. Why give consumers the opportunity to maul you to death with their autistic comments? Everyone who wanted a refund got one so no harm done. They just want the opportunity to make someone feel shitter than they do because some people online told them that they should be angry at this game/developer.
Agree @ autistic comments (lol). Although unfortunately not everyone who wanted a refund ended up getting one, steam even had to state ‘normal refund policy applies, no exceptions’ right next to the purchase button.
Ive tried hard to get a refund and have been denied each time due to my (13h) playtime.
I will just wait to see if the updates add anything to the game.
Yeah not everyone got a refund; I had around 6-8 hours play time, at least 10 crashes all of which logged with the PS4 reporting feature and finding the game to be a barren, featureless waste of money.
Done with buying digital from Sony, I’m a very long term customer (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PS Vita, subscribed to PS+ since launch) and the one time in all those years there’s a genuine issue you get the cold shoulder.
It’s the last time I pre-order anything as well, nice job Hello Games.
Same experience here, but with Steam.
I explained the nature of my issues and was met with template replies and refund refused.
To say the least, it has been handled poorly by all parties involved.
Shit happens. I’ll keep the game and play it every so often when/if they provide some real updates.
Damn that sucks. I got one from PlayStation even though I had played it for about a week.
The dev lied and should take the responsibility, but… Sony is hardly innocent IMO.
Why put’em on stage every E3 if you don’t know what the game is? Generating all the hypes?
Deceived.. Yes just a bit
I enjoy No Man’s Sky. I have no complaints. But I guess I’m a rare breed.
No mate. You’re not alone. I really enjoy playing at my own pace. 48 hours in I just like the chilling.
