A Closer Look – Interior
On the interior, this unit doesn’t look particularly fancy, not that you’ll really spend much (if any) time looking at it.
The biggest and most interesting factor I can see is that this unit has three high-quality bulk capacitors, each rated for 420V at 330uF; most PSUs we see have one or two at most.
The main output board is nicely finished and for extra safety, there’s glue applied over the solder, which should help keep cables secure and free from being able to short out.
Dotted around the PCB you’ll find a fair few main output capacitors of various ratings, such as the 16v 3900 uF and the 6.3v 3300 uF ones you can see here; all capacitors are very high quality and rated to 105c.
The AC input and EMC/EMI filtering stage, all wrapped up nice and tight.
A small two pin fan connector on the fan control PCB, as well as a two pin cable that connects to the hybrid/normal fan switch at the back.
Behind the top cover, you’ll fin da nice quality San Ace 120 12v DC fan.
