Conclusion

Having already tested this same power supply under a different brand name I think it is fair to say I already knew it was going to be good. Indeed, after re-testing I’ve found this power supply is still excellent and nothing has changed in that regard, there is a bit of variation but nothing significant. The Seasonic Platinum Fanless 520 features some of the best ripple suppression on the market, impressive voltage regulation that easily falls within Seasonic’s +-2% claims and we’ve also got excellent 80 Plus Platinum efficiency and high PFC to complement those things. This power supply is further improved by the fact it has a fully modular design and comes with lovely cables: they are all black and where braiding is used it is decent quality. Furthermore, the overall construction, build quality and use of components is top-tier and that’s all backed up by a 7 year warranty to give you peace of mind. The only possible concern with this power supply is that it is expensive – but find me a fanless 500W+ power supply that isn’t! Especially with this kind of quality and performance. I am a little more inclined to pick Seasonic’s 520 Platinum Fanless PSU over the rebadged versions sold by other vendors because Seasonic offer a longer warranty, a better accessory package and more luxurious packaging.
