Seasonic Platinum Series 660W Power Supply Review

A Closer Look – Interior

From what we can tell Seasonic produced a brand new power supply design for their Platinum Series. This OEM design offers up Seasonic’s trademark high quality soldering as well as an abundance of Chemi-Con and Rubycon filtering capacitors. The unit uses a pair of 220uF 420V hold up capacitors rated for 105 degrees celsius, the rest of the capacitors in this power supply are also rated for such a temperature. The provided fan is manufactured by Sanyo Denki and is the San Ace 120 model 9s1212f404 – this fan is designed specifically for power supply use since it operates between 5 and 14 volts with up to 2200 RPMs. The maximum rated noise is 30 dBA but given the Seasonic Platinum 660’s fan is temperature controlled, I doubt we will ever see it get close to that level given its efficiency.
