For many, Secret of Mana is one of the greatest games ever created. As such, the announcement of a remake had many fans of the games delighted. We would finally be able to replay this game again on modern systems with updated graphics.
Despite this being a remake of an old game, don’t expect the PC specs to be rock bottom. This remake is updating a lot from the classic title. We do, at least, know what these specifications for the PC are now.
When we first reported on the game, we didn’t know much about it, except that it was in the works. To be honest, we certainly were not expecting it and were thrilled to hear it was already in development. As such, just how demanding it would be for PC was an unknown quantity. So, now that we do know, what are the required specifications?
Well firstly, don’t panic. The specification as revealed on the Steam Store page (which has now launched) is actually rather benign.
The Steam Store page reports the specifications for the PC release as follows:
MINIMUM:
RECOMMENDED:
So rather benign to be honest. The vast majority of gaming PC owners should be able to run this with no problems at all.
Ah, now that depends on how you feel about story-driven JRPG’s. Secret of Mana is an excellent game, but it will require a massive time investment to complete. Something I would estimate at around a minimum of 40 hours.
For £29.99 though, this reflects excellent value and if you never played the game, perhaps you can now find out what all the fuss was about.
Secret of Mana releases for PC and PS4 on February 15th 2018.
