Everyone is excited about the launch of Bioware’s Mass Effect: Andromeda on March 23 (March 21 if you are in the US) but if you just simply cannot contain your excitement anymore and do not mind seeing tiny bits of storyline spoilers, IGN has the first 13-minute gameplay exclusive in glorious 60 frames-per-second 4K resolution video. The video introduces the new characters including the main male version of the character Scott Ryder (his sister Sara Ryder is the female main character option), his father Alec Ryder, Cora Harper, Dr. Lexi T’Perro (voiced by Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer) and S.A.M, the Simulated Adaptive Matrix AI.
The scene opens up with a narration and a view of a Mass Effect drive that changed humanity’s future similar to the original Mass Effect titles. After which, the actual story begins with the main character Scott Ryder waking up from Cryo-stasis and gets checked by Dr. Lexi T’Perro. Apparently the main character has neural implants and that is what the good doctor is checking for. S.A.M. interfaces with these implants and allows for monitoring, and most likely enhancements later on. Their ship then gets attacked and the action begins:
